This month I’m participating in Click It Up A Notch’s monthly photography contest. The rules are simple “go through all your photos you have taken this month and submit your favorite/best one.” Even though it’s technically September now (where did summer go!?), “this month” refers to August.
Thanks to our vacation trip to the Outer Banks I had no shortage of photos to look through and it wasn’t easy to narrow it down to just one. Even though I have plenty of shots of beautiful sunsets and the beach, I finally settled on this photo:
I took this photo inside The Currituck Lighthouse in Corrolla, NC. The lighthouse itself is a beautiful old red brick structure that looks over the Keeper’s House (now a museum shop). From the top of the lighthouse you have a panoramic view of the ocean, the sound, and the Currituck Outer Banks.
Inside the lighthouse, it was actually relatively dark. As you went up there was one single window each “story” or so, letting in most of the light you saw by. I love it because the light was so dramatic in the lighthouse and I think the lines of the staircase are really interesting. I also like it because I managed to expose it the way I wanted to (which was difficult given the tricky lighting).

That’s a wonderful pic! I love that blog. I’ve never participated in it. Most of my pics are from my iPad. I need to break out my digital camera more often. I wish they made them more compact cause I hate carrying it with me sometimes
